MANIFEST Artist Site
The MANIFEST site is a customization of a WordPress Theme and includes the GigPress plugin to help the Gospel group display their shows. I also did the logo design for them as a placeholder but they liked it more than the logos other designers intentionally made for them.

The Ferguson Heights Church of Christ website is an implementation of a premium WordPress theme with some minor customization.
Indiana Rome Artist Website
Indiana Rome’s site is built on WordPress and a customized version of Platform pro. Strong imagery and intuitive navigation showcase Indiana Rome’s music and brand.
justamuse.com Blog
New music blog justamuse.com is built on the WordPress platform. Heavy on interaction and maximizing content per pixel of browser space, justamuse.com features alot of sliders and jQuery based elements. It was a pleasure helping design and handling most of the development for the site.
Entelleckt Mobile Email Template
A simple, personable design was needed to cater to those who subscribe to Entelleckt’s email list.
With the continually growing rise of mobile email viewing, the design focused on a mobile friendly layout with big buttons and easily discernible sections.
NSBE National Template
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) wanted an email template that informed its members while being colorful and organized.
The design shown is the result of being integrated within NSBE’s marketing arm and some old-school hand coding.

How did I get into design?
You know how sometimes you find yourself doing things because no one else wants to do them and end up liking it?
That’s pretty much the biggest thing that led to me doing design. In college, I was in an organization called NSBE, and our chapter website was horrible so I learned how to make a new one. That site led to making sites for the most of the African-American student organizations then becoming Director of Promotions for the Student Union Board and designing their site.
Through design work and the occasional moment of brilliance (i.e. seeking out knowledge from other people and making application) I rose up through the ranks of NSBE, eventually becoming National Communication Chair. Got the chance to work with and learn from some amazing people, including:
- Tobias Rose of Kompleks Creative (lowkey, the coolest mentor ever)
- Brenda Nathan (photographer extraordinaire, fellow True Blood addict, all around incredible individual)
- Solea Hollaway (the definition of creative, she could make a trash can beautiful)
- and many more
What’s My Design Philosophy?
You know what makes for the best design?
Something that works the way it’s supposed to.
If we ( “we” meaning you and I) make something that works in terms of function, but is so hideous no one uses it, then it’s a bad design. Conversely, if we make something beautiful but no one knows how to use it and/or it doesn’t fulfill a purpose, then it’s a bad design.
Basically, a good design is:
- sexy (looks good enough for you to use it, read whatever you want into that)
- intuitive (how to use it is obvious; i’m all for creating useful and unneeded documentation)
- functional (it gives you the result you want)
